To my beloved Mayes and Smith family,

I know these moments are incredibly heavy, and there are truly no words that can ease the pain we’re all feeling. The loss of a daughter, sister, wife, mother, cousin, and dear friend is a heartbreak no one can ever truly prepare for.

I will always hold close the memory of my baby cousin — her strength, her determination, and the way she carried herself with such purpose and grace. I feel deeply honored and blessed to have received her words of wisdom and encouragement when I came to support her. She lifted me more than she ever knew.

Lauren Nicole Mayes — now a saint among us, watching over those she loved — I pray that you are fully healed and at peace, reunited with our Father in heaven. Your spirit will forever live on in our hearts.

Lauren was a great friend , mother and peer . She will always be in our hearts .

Lauren was my roommate, partner, and most of all a strong sister. I’m sure you all are flooded with how great of a person she was. Because she was that and more!
